How I got on Google front page--and why I decided to delete post
December 2nd 2008 00:25
Just over a week ago I stumbled upon a secret, it was a secret that everyone in britain and many abroad wanted to know but couldn't find an answer to.
Before I go any further, please promise that you will not click on any adsense links because I do not want to make any money by giving you this information.
Ok here goes:
I had been bombarded on the the news by the sad story of baby P, who at just 17 months old had been killed possibly by his mum or stepfather. He was missing the top of a finger and had a broken back, it was obvious the assaults were sustained. The story made me really upset because I have a son at exactly the same age. I just kept wondering how on earth this could happen in Britain to such an innocent baby boy.
However I was more shocked that all the news stations were refering to him as baby P, I just felt that surely he had a name and that his name should be made known. What are we if we do not have a name? that is who we are.
So I decided to look for his name on various websites, and after 4 hours searching I eventually found it. It was mentioned on a local newspaper website where the incedent happened. At that moment I wanted to tell the world what his name was. So I decided to announce it on my Orble blog.
The reason that I announced it there was because I wanted the world to know that he had a name.
Anyway, after a restless sleep I decided to search for why his name wasn't to be given and I found out there was a press blackout. Which basically means that there is good reason not to share his name -- ie it may upset his siblings, or effect the trial.
So I immediately deleted my post because I didn't want to upset or effect anything or onyone but it was too late. When I searched google my post came in at number 3, and sadly it still does. Luckily clicking the link goes to the main Orble site, but unfortunately I gave the name in the title which still shows on google.
There are three points that I would like to make:
1) If you find something and publish it that lots of people are looking for you will get to the top of google.
2) Orble is very powerful getting you indexed with Google. Publishing elsewhere would have not given the same result.
3) Be careful what you post.
I just hope that one day I find a secret that everyone needs that doesn't involve such a horrible story.
Please do not click on adsense ads, because I do not want to make money giving this information.
RIP Pal, I wish i'd been there to help when you needed me xx

I am much more aware now that the internet is a powerful communicator, so we need to be careful what we communicate!

The press doesn't refer to a deceased person by their initial out of disrespect.
I think the worst effort by the mainstream media happened earlier this year. A child, dubbed "Pumpkin", was stranded by her fugitive father at a Melbourne train station. The father was later extradited from the US for the suspected murder of his wife. At that point the media really should have stopped referring to the young girl as "Pumpkin".

I hope it is sorted now, it's amazing how quickly what we write can be found because we use our real names.
Thank-you for taking time to comment

After 10 years of Blairs nanny state, unfortunately not everything is obvious. The criminals in this country get far too much protection, and that's what I felt was happening.
Yes I am humble enough to admit in hindsight that it was very careless. That's precisely why I haven't named the baby, his mother or step-dad again.
I totally agree, the press should think before they start using these stupid names to describe real human beings.
Thank-you For taking time to comment

there are clear cut laws regarding identifying a minor, or someone associated with a minor, and to do so, will attract heavy penalties.
This is to protect the innocent minors, and their future, so anything that may lead to their identification (whether their name or others involved) should and legally must, not be used in the public arena.
Maybe you should request Orble management to contact Google, and ask them to remove the reference altogether? ...just in case....

Did you read my post? It's just that baby P had already been brutally killed and you are concerned about his future?
